How important are trade shows to your overall marketing efforts?

Even though we conducted this survey at a trade show, 10% of respondents said that trade shows were “not that important”,  however,  90% said that trade shows were either “very important” or “somewhat important” to their marketing efforts.

Other than trade shows, what other marketing tactics do you use?

While 31% of respondents said they are using traditional  or print advertisement, another 41% uses either email, online marketing, or social media.

How important is your website to your overall marketing efforts?

Almost all (98%) of respondents said that online marketing was either “very important” or “somewhat important”.

How do people learn about your website?

25% of respondents said that people learned about their website from email, social media or online marketing.  Another 18% said that people learn about their website from word of mouth, and another 18% from other sources.  30% of respondents said that traditional and print marketing helped people learn about their website.

When do you plan on making significant changes to your website?

35% of respondents plan on making significant changes within a few months.  13% said they would plan on making changes within the year, and 52% said they would not be making changes for more than a year.

How important is online marketing to your business?

90% of respondents said that online marketing was either “very important” or “somewhat important” to their business.

How important is social media to your business?

A majority of respondents (91%) said that social media was either “very important” or “somewhat important”.

Do you use social media to market your business?

Most respondents (92%) said that they used social media to market their business, which makes sense given how important social media is perceived to be.

What social media channels are most important to your business?

Facebook was the clear winner as the most popular social media channel at 41%, with Twitter coming in second at 27%.

Do you plan on using social media for your business more, less or the same in the future?

A majority (75%) of respondents plan to use social more in the future, while only 2% planned on using it less.

How important is Google to your business?

A majority of respondents (81%)  think that Google is either “very important” or “somewhat important”.

How have you used Google to market your business?

Most respondents (78%) actively use Google to market their business.

Do you plan on using Google to market your business in the future?

Many respondents (56%) are keeping their Google marketing at the same level, while 40% plan to increase spending.

How would you describe your business from the same time last year?

A significant number (77%) of respondents are showing growth this year with only (23%) reporting stability.

What is your monthly budget for overall marketing?

A majority of respondents (92%) spend over $500 per month on marketing.

Do you plan on spending more, less or the same on your marketing budget this year?

60% of respondents said they plan on spending more this year, while 40% said they plan on spending the same as last year.

What are some marketing efforts that you are interested in but haven’t tried?

42% of respondents said they are not interested in trying anything new, but 19% said they are interested in trying either social media, online marketing or email, for their marketing efforts.
