How important are trade shows to your overall marketing efforts?

Even though we conducted this survey at a trade show, 10% of respondents said that trade shows were “not that important” .  48% of respondents thought trade shows were “very important” and another 41% said that trade shows were only “somewhat important” to their marketing efforts.

Other than trade shows, what other marketing tactics do you use?

A large (40%) of respondents are using the internet or some form of social media for marketing, while another (25%) are using more traditional print ads to market their business.

How important is your website to your overall marketing efforts?

86% of respondents said that online marketing was either “very important” or “somewhat important”.

How do people learn about your website?

About 41% of respondents said people learned about their website from the internet or social media channels.  Another 15% said they get people from word of mouth, and about 13% said tradeshows.

When do you plan on making significant changes to your website?

77% of respondents plan on making a change to their website within the year.

How important is online marketing to your business?

87% of respondents felt that online marketing is either “very important” or “somewhat important” to their business.

How important is social media to your business?

24% of respondents feel that social media is “very important” to their business, and another 44% feel it is at least “somewhat important”.

Do you use social media to market your business?

Most respondents (58%) said that they used social media to market their business, which makes sense given how important social media is perceived to be.

What social media channels are most important to your business?

Facebook was the clear winner as the most popular social media channel at 46%, with Twitter coming in second at 23%.

Do you plan on using social media for your business more, less or the same in the future?

A majority (94%) of respondents plan to use social media the same amount or  more in the future, while only 6% planned on using it less.

How important is Google to your business?

Most respondents (73%) think that Google is either “very important” or “somewhat important”.

How have you used Google to market your business?

Most respondents (64%) actively use Google to market their business.

Do you plan on using Google to market your business in the future?

Many respondents (63%) are keeping their Google marketing at the same level, while 35% plan to increase spending.

How would you describe your business from the same time last year?

A significant number (70%) of respondents are showing growth this year with only 21% saying business is stable.

What is your monthly budget for overall marketing?

A majority of respondents (72%) spend over $500 per month on marketing.

Do you plan on spending more, less or the same on your marketing budget this year?

60% of respondents plan on keeping their marketing budget the same, while 29% say they will spend more, and only 9% claim they will spend less.

What are some marketing efforts that you are interested in but haven’t tried?

27% of respondents said they will be trying more traditional print ads, and an almost equal amount, 25% of respondents, said they will be trying social media.
