How important are trade shows to your overall marketing efforts?

Even though we conducted this survey at a trade show, 19% of respondents said that trade shows were “not that important” and 70% said that trade shows were only “somewhat important” to their marketing efforts.

How important is your website to your overall marketing efforts?

All (100%) of respondents said that online marketing was either “very important” or “somewhat important”.

How do people learn about your website?

60% of respondents said people learn about their websites either from online marketing, social media or email.  Another 28% said more traditional methods of  TV, radio, and magazine ads are responsible for web traffic.

How important is online marketing to your business?

83% of respondents feel that online marketing is important to their business, while 17% do not feel it is important.

How important is social media to your business?

86% of the respondents think social media is either “very important” or “somewhat important”, while 14% reported it is “not that important”.

Do you use social media to market your business?

Most respondents (71%) said that they used social media to market their business, which makes sense given how important social media is perceived to be.

What social media channels are most important to your business?

Facebook was the clear winner as the most popular social media channel at 53%, with Twitter coming in at a distant second at 24%.

Do you plan on using social media for your business more, less or the same in the future?

A majority (79%) of respondents plan to use social more in the future, while only 8% planned on using it less.

How important is Google to your business?

Most respondents (78%) think that Google is either “very important” or “somewhat important”.

How have you used Google to market your business?

42% of respondents are using Google Adwords and 17% have used SEO to market their business.

Do you plan on using Google to market your business in the future?

Many respondents (40%) are keeping their Google marketing at the same level, while 60% plan to increase spending.

How would you describe your business from the same time last year?

A significant number (44%) of respondents are showing growth this year with about 46% saying business is stable.

What is your monthly budget for overall marketing?

A majority of respondents (82%) spend over $500 per month on marketing.

Do you plan on spending more, less or the same on your marketing budget this year?

92% of respondents either plan on spending more or the same amount as last year.

What are some marketing efforts that you are interested in but haven’t tried?

36% of respondents would like to try Twitter, and another 21% would like to try Facebook for their marketing efforts.  28% of respondents are interested in trying either Google or another form of online marketing.
