How important are tradeshows to your overall marketing efforts?

A significant number (37%) of respondents said that trade shows were only “somewhat important”.

Other than trade shows, what other marketing tactics do you use?

Not surprisingly, online marketing was the most popular other marketing tactic, but print ads and magazines are  still holding on.

How important is your website to your overall marketing efforts?

Nearly all respondents had a website and all respondents said that their website was either “somewhat important” or “very important”.

How do people learn about your website?

Google was the primary traffic driver, with traditional tactics dividing up the remaining responses.

How important is online marketing to your business?

A vast majority (86%) of respondents said that online marketing was either “very important” or “somewhat important”.

How important is social media to your business?

About half of respondents said that social media was either “very important”or “somewhat important”. While social media is lagging behind Google in perceived importance, it’s viewed as an important tactic.

Do you use social media to market your business?

Just under half of respondents said that they used social media to market their business, which falls in line with the perceived importance of social media.

What social media channels are most important to your business?

Linkedin was the most popular social media channel, followed closely by Twitter and Facebook.

How do you plan on using social media for your business in the future?

46% of respondents plan to use social more in the future, while only 10% planned on using it less. This will likely increase the adoption of social media marketing as a tactic in the industry.

How important is Google to your business?

Most respondents (84%) think that Google is either “very important” or “somewhat important”, which isn’t surprising as Google is the primary driver of website traffic.

Most respondents (69%) actively use Google to market their business.
